Next, I installed ME 2.4 but going through the same learn new control process as above, my crossfader turned squirrely once again. I repeated the process of uninstalling ME 2.5 etc etc and launched Serato Video and BOOM I was back to a smooth crossfader. Even after deleting the new control ME just learned it did not go back to smooth and in fact this caused the same problem to appear in Serato Video again. Soooo just to see what would happen, I clicked "learn new control" and the jerky crossfader issue was once again back. I guess ME was taking the MIDI information from something Serato Video had done? I'm clueless. Next I launched SDJ and Serato Video and guess what? My crossfader finally worked smoothly again! I quit all programs, reinstalled and relaunched ME 2.5 with SDJ and guess what? My crossfader STILL worked smooth! Now, there were no mappings present in ME when I clicked the MIDI button and then the ME crossfader to "learn new control". I figured there's no way in hell I could have TWO busted faders right? This had me leaning back toward it being an ME issue so I uninstalled ME and any and all folders I knew of that were associated with it. Just as I was about to order the replacement part, I tried one last ditch effort to attempt to map the ME crossfader to one of my volume faders on the SX and the same problem occurred. None at all! That being said it sure seems like I have a doozie on my hands right now. I'd like to think I'm pretty "tech-savvy" and I've never experienced any problems with ME up to this point.

If I try to choose Mix Emergency from the pull down menu, it doesn't work.Īpologies for this being such a long read. In contrast when the SX is plugged in, it will work ONLY if I am running SDJ and ONLY if that option is chosen in the same pull down window. Also it works regardless if either Mi圎mergency or Serato DJ / Scratch Live is chosen in the little pull down window. When I hook up to the 900 and launch ME the software's crossfader works regardless if SDJ or SSL is running or not. I'm still wondering if it could be a problem/malfunction with the crossfader on my SX but if that's the case then why is ME's crossfader still going bananas when I choose to disable the use of an external crossfader in ME's preferences? How's that possible?įinally as you can see from the video the problem is still not 100% solved. However as I mentioned above the SX is now (almost) working again with the parameters set by the 900 of CC11 Channel1. The mapping on the 900 is CC11 Channel1 and with the SX it is CC63 Channel7. Just to test things out I tried to add the SX mapping and while a new mapping was in fact created, it was created with the same jittery problem that began my thread here. This seems a little strange to me since the only mapping I had set was for the 900. However, after quitting ME, unplugging the 900 and plugging back in the SX, the ME crossfader was (almost) smooth again as well (see video). My first thought was GREAT, looks like my SX crossfader must be shot. I created a new mapping using the 900 crossfader and ME's crossfader was once again smooth. I deleted the mapping as you mentioned above and then plugged in my Pioneer DJM900 with the M-Audio Uno for MIDI functionality.

More importantly I suppose, I have somewhat fixed it. This makes no sense to me at all but maybe it will help you? Next question, regardless of weather or not SDJ is running or not, yes, the problem is also still apparent. OK Nick first to answer your questions, YES the ME crossfader still goes bananas as in the video above even when "use external crossfader" is disabled. Any other suggestions? In the meantime I will try restarting my MBP in hopes it may be something as simple as that! Thanks for the help Nick! At that point I just needed to get up and running so I set ME to "auto-fade on media stop" and just limped through my night. The only thing else I could think of but did not do was restart my MBP. In addition, I also unplugged the USB from the DDJ-SX and plugged it into another port powered off the SX and back on again and tried a different USB cable. I even tried restarting both ME and SDJ to see if that would help, neither did. Next, I figured maybe something got screwed up somehow with the mapping so I actually did just as you suggest here several times. My very first thought was that something was buggy with 2.5 so I launched 2.4 and had the same problem. As I said, prior to last nite it was working fine the 2 or 3 times I used it previously. Ahhhh yes my friend I tried this last nite at my event just prior to recording the video above and no, it did not work.
